Today in History
Giacomo Puccini’s version of La Bohème, a story taken from Henry Murger's La Vie de Bohème, is set in the artistic subculture of France. When one of the characters, suffering from tuberculosis, must balance survival against romantic love, it creates complicated situations. A modern version of the story is the musical Rent, with AIDS replacing tuberculosis.
